Welcome to our website. We are so happy that you have taken the time to visit our presence on the world wide web. Truth Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, Bible believing Baptist Church.
By independent we mean there is no governing hiearchy (Convention,Association) that controls the church. By fundamental we mean we hold to certain truths that are fundamental to the Christian faith and cannot be compromised. These fundamentals would include divine creation, the verbal inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture, the virgin birth of Christ, His diety, substitutionary atonement, bodily resurrection, his physical return and the existence of a literal heaven and hell. By Baptist we mean that we hold to the Baptist distinctives.

Pastor Carter began ministering to a small group of family members and friends during a monthly Bible study. Two years later, in January 2000, Pastor Carter announced the desire and Godly leading to plant a church in Jacksonville, Florida. On April 16, 2000, Truth Baptist Church had its first service in a small single unit storefront building, which God had provided. There was 34 people in attendance for that service and eleven adult members joined during the first service and God has continued to add to the fold. Truth Baptist soon out grew the location of 6035 Ft. Caroline Drive and God blessed us with our current location of 1221 Shackleton Rd. While this building was previously a doctors office and would need to be renovated for use as a church, we knew that God wanted us to bring the lost to this building to meet the Great Physician. In September 2002, we moved to our new building and our renovations were not completed until December 2009 and we celebrated our Building Dedication Service in January 2010. It is our desire to grow to include a Bible Institute and Christian School. |

9/6 - Labor Day Cook-Out
We will be having a labor day picnic which will include a Men's Grill-Off. The competition will be based on hamburgers and chicken. Come out and have a great time of fellowship with us. We will meet at the Sunny Acres Park off of Merrill Road for the picnic. We will serve lunch at 12:30pm. Please bring a side dish to complete the meal.
9/14-15 - Independent Baptist Fellowship
We will host the Independent Baptist Fellowship at our church on September 14-15th, 2010. This will be 2 days of preaching and fellowship for preachers and all are invited. The IBF was started to gather preachers of like faith for encouragement, fellowship and preaching. We will post on this website additional details and hotels in the area.
