The Bible tells us in Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
When you think about peace, what do you think about? Well one word that is an antonym (opposite) of peace is war. War is a perfect description of our frantic lives. We find ourselves fighting in battles everyday from sunup to sundown. Whether we realize it or not, we face multiple battles every day.
We battle with the clock as to whether we are going to get up or hit snooze button.
We battle with our hair to see if it is going to cooperate or not.
We battle with traffic to see if we will make it to work on time.
We battle as to whether we will obey the speed limits that are posted.
We battle with customers on the job.
We battle as to whether we will eat a healthy lunch or blow our diets.
We battle as to the words we are going to say with people who will rub us the wrong way.
We battle as to whether we will spend time in the bible or not.
We are at war all the time in our lives. What we need is peace. Isa 26 tells us we can have perfect peace when our mind is focused on the Lord. But how is that acchieved? Well, Phillipians 4:6-7 tell us:
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
I believe this verse can be summed up in this way to help us have peace in the midst of our battle filled day.
1. Don't Worry about Nothing - worry has never solved any problem for you anyway.
2. Do Pray abut Everything - It is when we talk to God about our situation that we can get a clear view of the real picture.
3. Be Thankful for Anything - If we are in the will of God and Love Him, then everything we go through will be for our good.
Have A Perfectly Peaceful Day
